# Enable Your Camera

To complete some identity verification checks with Certn, you take a photo of yourself to verify your identity. This article helps you enable your camera in your browser so you can complete the check.

This guide contains steps for the browsers and operating systems in the following table. To skip to the steps you need, find the row for your browser in the table, and then select your operating system from that row.

## Safari

This section explains how to enable your camera in Safari. To skip to the instructions you need, select your operating system:

### MacOS

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Don't Allow**, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

If you selected **Never for this website**, follow these steps:

1. Open Safari's Preferences. To do so, open the Safari menu and then select **Preferences**.
2. In Preferences, select the **Websites** tab, and then select the **Camera** tab to see a list of currently open websites.
3. Next to the entry that contains certn.co, select the drop-down list and choose **Allow**.
4. Return to Safari and reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

### iOS

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Cancel**, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

If the prompt does not reappear, follow these steps:

1. Tap the  icon in the search field, and then select **Website Settings**.
2. Tap **Camera** and set it to **Allow**.
3. Select **Done** to close the settings. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.

## Chrome

### MacOS

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Block**, follow these steps:

1. Select the camera icon in the search bar.
2. Select the option to allow camera access.
3. Select **Done**. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.

If you selected **Don't Allow**, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

### Android

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Block**, follow these steps:

1. Select the lock or camera icon in the search bar.
2. Select **Permissions**, and then select the **Camera** toggle to enable it.
3. Tap outside of the menu to close it. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.

### MacOS

If you selected **Block**, follow these steps:

1. Select the camera icon in the search bar to open your camera options.
2. Select the **Always allow** option.
3. Select **Done**. To apply the changes, reload the page.

If the prompt for camera access does not appear, the Edge app may not have access to your camera. You can enable access in System Preferences. For instructions, refer to [this Apple help article](https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mchlf6d108da/13.0/mac/13.0).

### Windows

### MacOS

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. The prompt has **Block** and **Allow** buttons. The prompt also has a check box, **Remember this decision**. If you select this check box, your decision to block or allow camera access for this site will be saved.

Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Block** and the **Remember this decision** check box was not selected, then Firefox temporarily blocked camera access for this site. To unblock camera access, follow these steps:

1. Select the camera icon in the search bar.
2. Select the 'X' on the **Blocked Temporarily** tag to remove it.
3. Reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

If you selected **Block** and the **Remember this decision** check box was selected, then you need to unblock camera access from Firefox's settings. For instructions, refer to [this Firefox help article](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-manage-your-camera-and-microphone-permissions#w_change-camera-permissions).

If the prompt for camera access does not appear, the Firefox app may not have access to your camera. You can enable access in System Preferences. For instructions, refer to [this Apple help article](https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mchlf6d108da/13.0/mac/13.0).

### Windows

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. The prompt has **Allow** and **Block** buttons. The prompt also has a check box, **Remember this decision**. If you select this check box, your decision to block or allow camera access for this site will be saved.

Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

### iOS

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Don't Allow**, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

### Android

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. The prompt has **Don't allow** and **Allow** buttons. The prompt also has a check box, **Remember decision for this site**. If you select this check box, your decision to block or allow camera access for this site will be saved.

Select **Allow** to enable your camera.

If you selected **Don't allow** and the **Remember decision for this site** check box was not selected, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

If you selected **Don't allow** and the **Remember decision for this site** check box was selected, then you need to adjust the settings for this site. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Select the lock or camera icon in the search bar.
2. Next to **Camera**, select **Blocked**. The **Blocked** label changes to **Allowed**.
3. Tap outside of the menu to close it. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.
